So the burden is actually the same only turned around to the uncommon use case of wanting the indent. Mind you, those space characters were not in the source text at all, nor were they selected in the copied text. Whereas the status quo asks every player to go in the first line and remove space characters if they do not want it. That is, if you were copying ascii art in the first place and really need the first line adjusted like it was in the source text at all. So the workaround literally is: Copy and paste text normally, go back to start of the first line, add space characters as necessary. We can surely take a survey if you judge the situation otherwise, this is just feedback I got.įor comparison, every other program out there, you will select multiple lines and you can indent the pasted text afterwards. It was a nice try, it had its run, but probably won't be missed at all if we removed it tomorrow. In most situations that I can think of where only a part of the first line is copied then it makes sense to retain the layout relative to the remainder.
